This Privacy Policy explains how New Build Rankings (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information when you visit www.newbuildrankings.com (the “Site”).

Who we are

Contact and enquiries
We do not offer public user accounts. If you email us, we receive whatever information you choose to include (for example your name, email address, and message content).
Community submissions
If you request to be featured in our “From the community” Instagram section, we store your Instagram username and, if you provide it, the developer you bought from. We do not ask for your email address in that form. Requests are reviewed by our team before any profile appears on the Site.
Site search
When you use the Site search, we log the search queries you enter (in normalised form) to understand popular topics and improve the Site. We do not ask you to identify yourself when searching.
Technical and usage data
When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP address.
Analytics
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-C4HY4TXRZC) to understand how visitors use the Site — for example which pages are viewed and how users navigate. Google may use cookies and similar technologies for this purpose. See Google’s privacy information at policies.google.com/privacy.
Vercel Web Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and basic traffic on the Site. This is provided by our hosting platform and is designed to operate without advertising cookies.
Session and experience analytics
We also use session and experience analytics to understand how visitors interact with pages (for example scroll behaviour and navigation patterns). These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and are provided by third-party analytics services.
Advertising
We may display advertising through Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-2193366581259784). AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and in some cases personalise advertising based on your browsing activity. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, session and experience analytics, and advertising as described above.
We may set strictly necessary cookies required for Site operation, including during maintenance or pre-launch preview access.

The Site does not currently show a cookie consent banner. Non-essential cookies (such as those used for analytics, session recording, and advertising) may be set when you visit. We may introduce a consent mechanism in future to comply with UK PECR and UK GDPR requirements.

Third-party data we display
The Site presents information about UK housebuilders sourced from public and third-party platforms, including the Home Builders Federation (HBF), Trustpilot, and Google. We sync or display this data to help visitors compare developers. We do not collect personal data from you to populate these rankings or review scores.
When you follow links to external websites (developer sites, HBF, Trustpilot, Instagram, and others), those sites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for how they handle your data.
Instagram community content
We may display public Instagram profile and post information (for example usernames, captions, and media) to highlight community content related to new build homes. This data is obtained from publicly available Instagram information via a third-party service. We do not receive your Instagram login credentials.
Hosting and infrastructure
Cloud hosting and content delivery — website hosting, CDN, and serverless functions.
Managed database — storage for CMS content and site data.
Media file storage — object storage for uploaded media when configured.
CMS and administration
Site content is managed through a restricted content management system admin area. Access is limited to authorised administrators and protected with two-factor authentication in production. Admin activity is not intended for general visitors and is not described further in this public policy.

Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content.
Understand traffic and usage patterns through analytics.
Serve and measure advertising.
Respond to enquiries you send us by email.
Protect the Site against abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
